Philadelphia Fund Alliance Raises $100,000 to Support Friends of the Wissahickon
The Philadelphia Fund Alliance (PFA), a group of Philadelphia-based asset management industry professionals, is pleased to announce that it raised $100,000 at its annual fundraising gala on Nov. 4, benefiting Friends of the Wissahickon (FOW). The FOW is a 2,700 member nonprofit organization that conserves and improves the 1800-acre Wissahickon Valley Park. Since its formation in 2016, PFA has raised close to half a million dollars for Greater Philadelphia area charities.
“With the help of our asset management community, we continue to accomplish our fundraising goals, year after year,” said Bruce G. Leto, PFA steering committee member and co-chair of Stradley Ronon’s investment management group. “Our gift to the FOW will greatly expand programs for high school students, which will introduce the next generation to our treasured natural spaces and help preserve the Wissahickon Valley.”
“FOW is so grateful for the extraordinary support from the Philadelphia Fund Alliance,” said Ruffian Tittmann, Executive Director of Friends of the Wissahickon. “Their contribution will allow us to grow our volunteer programming and increase the impact of our stewardship of the Wissahickon Valley Park.”
PFA was created in 2016 to host an annual fundraiser to benefit a Greater Philadelphia charity and to celebrate the region’s deep roots in the registered funds, asset management and alternatives industries. Last year, the event raised a total of $80,000 for Coded by Kids, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit preparing underrepresented young people to succeed as tech and innovation leaders through project-based learning and mentorship.
